What is the Adaptive Capacities Test General Intelligence?

A person's cognitive abilities come into play in practically all work-related situations. It is therefore relevant to know what level of performance you can expect from an employee or candidate. The Adaptive Capacities Test General Intelligence (ACT) measures a person's ability to think logically, solve problems and quickly process new information. The test provides objective insights into candidates’ cognitive potential, which helps to predict how successful they will be in certain roles. This applies to selecting the right candidate with the right professional and intellectual credentials and to mapping out their ability to learn or develop.  

The subject's IQ score is calculated in the test report. You can specify what reference groups you want to include in the report. These are available for every level: secondary vocational education, tertiary vocational education, higher education/bachelor's and university education/master's or a combination thereof.  

The ACT consists of three subtests that together measure a person's intelligence:

  • A numerical test that asks candidates to discern the logical correlation between a series of numbers.

  • An abstract test that asks candidates to discern the pattern in a series of figures and then apply this pattern logically.

  • A verbal test that asks candidates to choose two words (out of a total of six) that form an analogy together with the two words that are given.
